Yes I really am going to run for King of the Waddle again on Feb 13, 2010. You're all laughing and probably had enough of me the last two years but it's for a GREAT CAUSE!
Suncoast Basset Rescue is dedicated to the rescue, rehabillitation. and re-homing of basset hounds of many ages, some with amazing stories to share of hunger, pain, and sadness.
Suncoast is fortunate to be in the position to positively impact each hound and welcome them with open arms.
Upon entering Suncoast Basset Rescue each basset hound is evalvated for health and emotional issues and placed in foster homes while their needs are tended to, such as dentals, heartworm treatment, spay, neuter, vaccinations and numourus other things. However sometimes the hounds needs are great and the financial side take on a larger role. Just like myself I was hit by a car before I was placed in rescue and my medical needs were large I had x-rays, Surgery to have pins put in my back leg, I was neutered , I needed pain meds and other things to help me recover. I was placed in a loving foster home while I was recovering. When I was well enough to go to a forever home they placed me in a great home where I'm spoiled rotten.
Suncoast Basset Rescue carefully screens prospective owners and careful consideration is taken to ensure all hounds will be well taken care of. That we will have a safe and loving home and get lots of belly rubs and we don't have to worry about being starved or being abused again.

So other hounds can be as Lucky as I was and get the medical ,rehabillitation and emotional help needed to get them on their way to a loving forever home where they will be spoiled and get lots of belly rubs, a bed to sleep in, and never have to worry about where their next meal will come from and most of all a second chance at life with people that will love them.
