My story is unique, everyone that knows me understands that I always do things just a little different. Five years ago I was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes at 52 years old. What a life changing event. Things moved very fast once I was diagnosed, the pills, injections, finger sticks and changes of eating habits. WOW my life was spinning. Fast forward to now, I have adjusted to this change in my life and my diabetes in now under control. With the help of my insulin pump, CGM meter and a wonderful team of physicians, educators and Diabetes Sisters I can manage my life with diabetes.

As you can see from my picture I have to work hard to manage my diabetes for my special little grandson.
