I started volunteering with RESCUE in 2002 because I wanted to do something with my extra time to help animals. In 2010, I am still volunteering with RESCUE because I want to MAKE A DIFFERENCE in the plight of homeless animals every where.

A difference in the life of a cat like Greyson. Greyson had been taken in at the pound on Feb 2, 2010. We rescued him on March 25. That's an almost unheard of amount of time for an animal to be at the pound. But Greyson was a real sweetheart and they had taken him on several adopiton events. Unfortunately, he wasn't adopted and the stress was taking a toll on him. He had diarrhea for 3 weeks straight before we rescused him and the pound wasn't sure what else to do for him. He got a much needed bath upon arriving at our Feline Care Center, and a week later a much needed dental. Greyson must have liked his new diggs (see him smiling in his picture) as his diarrhea cleared up after one day at the center. He is a sweet cat, loves his people and follows them around very much like a dog would. His fur from being shaved is growing back in and he loves being told how beautiful he is.

 Greyson's story is similar to the 9400 other cats and dogs RESCUE has saved and found homes for since our beginning in 1995. Some had stories sadder then Demitri's, some had medical issues, for some their owners simply didn't want then anymore, whatever the reason they all had one thing in common, they were on the "kill list" at the pound and they needed us. Hopefully some day they won't need us anymore, but until that day, with your help we will be there. Your donation, of any amount, helps us help cats (and dogs) just like Demitri. Your donation helps us pay for our monthly expenses such as food, boarding and medical care. Every dollar adds up just like every life adds up to the over 9,400 lives saved and you can be apart of our mission by supporting our efforts!
