I was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes when I was four years old. I was scared and didn't know any other kids with diabetes. The Diabetic Youth Foundation (DYF) was there to show me that I am not alone and that I can do everything I want to do.

DYF has made a huge difference for my family and is there for us every year through year-round programs like Bearskin Meadow Camp, education about how to take care of my diabetes every day, and updates on diabetes technology and advances in research.

Most importantly, my Mom and Dad and I meet others affected by diabetes and who share our same life experiences. DYF's endless encouragement, life saving diabetes education and care has inspired me to turn the challenges of living with diabetes into opportunities of a lifetime.
