Thank you for visiting My Personal Fundraising Page for Team Kinlin. My family will be participating in the Samaritans 12th annual 5K "Run for Someone Else's Life" in honor of my brother Jeff Kinlin and my niece Siobhan Kinlin.
Just four years ago, my brother Jeff, took his life, a suicide hastened by the post-traumatic stress and depression he wrestled with for so many years. But I could never imagine a second chapter to my family’s story. Just two years later, my niece Siobhan, a young lady of poise, beauty and intellect, also ended her life. For our family and friends, the pain and sorrow were reborn. It is our hope to prevent this pain and sorrow from devastating another family.
The Samaritans urgently need your help.
Every day, more than one person dies by suicide, almost three times the number lost to homicide, and every week, one teenager dies by suicide. But deaths are only a small part of the story. For every death there are another 20 people hospitalized or treated for self-inflicted injuries.
In these difficult economic times, the demand for Samaritans’ services continues to grow. This year, calls to Samaritans help lines have already increased by ten percent.
Your donation on behalf of Team Kinlin will help the Samaritans save lives and raise awareness for suicide prevention. Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to make a contribution to our fundraising efforts. Please click the "Sponsor Me Now" button above to donate.
We hope you can make the event on Saturday, October 2nd at Artesani Park in Brighton. If you would like to run or walk with Team Kinlin, please register online at: https://app.etapestry.com/hosted/Samaritans/OnlineRegistration.html
Many thanks for your support.
