Lyness is a very loving, playful puppy in need of orthopedic surgery to correct congenital angular limb deformities in both of his lower front legs.
Lyness was New Hoped from the euthanasia list with a congenital limb deformity. He is a very sociable, intelligent and loving Shepherd mix between the age of 7-12 months. He needs two surgeries very soon to correct these deformities. Unfortunately, without these surgeries, he will be struggling to walk within a year or so. Surgery will allow him to live a completely normal life with a loving family.
Circle L has taken him into our care but we need financial assistance in order to provide him with the two surgeries he need.
Dr. Daniel Guastella at VetMed Consultants (www.vetmedconsultantsaz.com) has offered to perform the first surgery at a cost of $2,500 which includes pre- and post-operative care, X-rays and other services. This amount only covers the first surgery which will begin with Lyness' left foreleg. With luck, not as much work will need to be done on his right foreleg. We have increased the amount that we are fundraising for to include the second surgery, fostering expenses, medication and post-op care, which can be extensive!
Lyness is a loving, very entertaining pup who still manages to limp along with his new foster friends, despite his deformity. He loves people and other animals and is even smart enough to notify a "person" when another dog has been injured or is ill, simply by barking! He also knows his basic commands, such as "sit", "stay," "lie down", and he's completely housebroken! Pretty impressive for a youngster.
This peaceful, playful pup deserves to live a long, pain-free existence.
Please consider making an emergency donation and help us provide the surgery that this beautiful animal requires. The total cost of the first surgery (at a discounted rate) is estimated to be $2,500. He will then need to have the second surgery which we hope will be less, but we will continue our fundraising efforts to ensure he receives both! Any amount will help.
While we know that the economy is challenging, we also know that even a small (tax-deductible!) donation of $1 - $5 will assist in providing a lifetime of happiness for this pup.
Donating through this website is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to support our fundraising efforts.
Thank you for your continued support -- without your assistance and generosity, our work would not be possible. Please take a moment to forward this to your friends!
