Andre's torturer must be caught, arrested, and convicted.
We have more information on the circumstances that Andre was found under.
I had to write to the county for the records and they arrived today. Susy called the man who found Andre in the plastic bag. The story is worse than we thought.
Apparently a kind gentleman was walking at the 10200 block of West Hess St in Phoenix on January 6, saw a car slow down, and a bag was tossed into an empty lot out of the window of the car.
The gentleman noted that the bag was moving, opened the bag, and found Andre with severely injured eyes. He called Animal Control and the police.
Andre was picked up by the Animal Control field officer who thought the injuries were so severe that euthanization was appropriate.
Linda Soto of MCACC west was present when Andre was brought into the shelter. She gave him some food and he ate it hungrily. He was noted to be dehydrated but he could walk.
They decided to give him a chance.
The eyes were so badly injured that they required removal on January 12th.
We saw the plea from Duanne for Andre on January 19th and Phyllis picked him up on Jan 20th.
The support for Andre, the love that has been showered on him, and the outcry against his perpetrator has convinced me that our society will not tolerate animal abuse any longer.
We are offering a $3000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the perpetrator of this crime. PETA has offered $1000, Animal Guardian Network has offered $1000, and Feathers Foundation is offering $1000.
The greater the reward, the better chance we have of getting this animal torturer off of the street.
Please donate to this website to help us prosecute the perpetrator of crimes against Andre and prevent him from doing this to another innocent animal.
This society cannot tolerate animal abuse! Animal abusers go on to abuse children!
Donating through this website is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to support my fundraising efforts.
Many thanks for your support -- and don't forget to forward this to anyone who you think might want to donate too!
