Did you know that with your donation of $100, you can save the life of a horse? You really can. Please read:
Did you know that every year in the US 100,000 horses are slaughtered in equine slaghterhouses in Texas and Illinois? The vast majority of these horses are not old and sick. They are 3 month old foals. They are pregnant mares. They are discarded race horses. They are trained riding horses. They have been a child's best friend. The slaughterhouse workers do not care what their history is. They want their meat.
Did you know that Americans do not eat horsemeat? The meat of these poor unfortunate creatures goes to tables in France, Belgium, and Japan. Even the slaughterhouses are foreign owned.
Every week, the staff of Circle L Horse Rescue attends the Chino Valley livestock auction and buys as many horses as we can by out-bidding the killer buyer. We have paid as little as $40 for a beautiful horse, and never more than a few hundred dollars. That is what these precious lives are reduced to.
With very little effort, we can get these horses adopted to wonderful, loving homes. All it takes is the willingness to save them and give them a second chance. It does not take much time to find a loving people to to adopt these horses. But at the auction, they do not have the luxury of time! If no one in the audience wants the horse that day, he goes to the slaughterhouse. Just like that. No second chances.
We are more than willing to do the work! We are more than willing to go to the auction, trailer the horse home and care for him. We simply need the funding to do it. We have the staff, we have the ranch. We have the love to give.
We need donations to help us purchase the horses, feed them, vet them, and work with them. Our adoption rate is excellent.
Please consider an on-line donation. With a mere $100, you will know that you saved a precious life. You gave a horse a second chance.
3/20/07 With $820 in their hands, the Circle L Ranch staff out-bid the killer buyer for 9 horses today. We now have a mare and her foal, 3 yearlings, 2 very young foals, a 9 year old Palomino mare, and an older hospice horse who we purchased for $25.
Thank you for your donations. YOU are responsible for these 9 lives saved. Deborah
