Please help Lucky Paws shelter pay veterinary bills!
Dogs like Larry the little chihuahua should not die because there is no money for veterinary bills. Little Larry was turned into the county shelter as a senior. He was terrified.
Due to overcrowding, he was placed in a kennel with other dogs who attacked him. He sustained bite wounds all over his little body. He suffered terribly, then he was placed on the euthanasia list and sentenced to die.
When we took Larry from the shelter he was covered with abcesses. Any attempt to pick him up caused him to scream in pain.
His abcesses were evacuated and drains were placed by our rescue veterinarian. He was placed on antibiotics and pain medication and taken to a foster home.
This is a picture of Larry today, 2 weeks after his surgery. He is recovering slowly. He is still afraid to be touched. It will take him awhile to recover physically and psychologically.
Dogs like Larry should not suffer and die.
Lucky Paws shelter is owned and run by Feathers Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to rescuing animals from euthanasia and slaughter.
Veterinary bills are one of our largest expenses despite wonderful veterinarians like Dr. Kit Slocum at Healing Hearts mobile veterinary clinic. Even rescue prices can be overwhelming.
It breaks our hearts to leave dogs and cats like Larry to suffer at the shelter, but without assistance with veterinary bills we are forced to do just that.
We have the love, we have the heart, and we have the space. Please help us with the resources to help innocent victims like Larry.
Please consider a donation to help us help need animals!
