Ironman Texas
Thank you for visiting my fundraising page!
In May I will be checking something off my bucket list that I never dreamed I would be able to do. I will be competing in one of the most challenging endurance events on the planet -- an IRONMAN, which involves a 2.4 mile swim, 112 mile bike, and a 26.2 mile run.
I am inspired to even attempt such an amazing feat by the same thing that got me into marathons - being diagnosed with Cystic Fibrosis 6 years ago. Exercise is the best form of airway clearance I've found, and helps tremendously in keeping my lungs healthy for as long as possible.
Unfortunately, as of now there is no cure for CF. I have lost way too many friends, just in the past year, to this terrible and devastating disease. It is a daily struggle to keep up with hours of breathing treatments, airway clearance techniques, and consuming enough calories to maintain a healthy weight. Thanks to new research & drug therapies, the average life expectancy for people with CF is currently about 37 years.

No donation is too small to help fight this disease. Many thanks for your support -- and don't forget to forward this to anyone who you think might want to donate too!
