Go the Extra Mile
Thank you for visiting my fundraising page!
As you know, Prader-Willi Syndrome research has become a cause very dear to our hearts since Cheyenne received the diagnosis of clinical Prader-Willi Syndrome a year ago.
We're taking part in the Go the Extra Mile to raise money for the Foundation for Prader-Willi Research, Inc.
Individuals with Prader-Willi Syndrome have very low metabolism rates, about 60% of yours or mine. They have to eat very low calorie diets (typically 800-1200 calories per day to maintain weight) and exercise at least an hour per day to maintain a healthy weight. A person with PWS would have to run an extra mile to burn the same calories a typical person would when running a 5k.
Our kids go the extra mile everyday and on May 22nd we are asking you to go the extra mile for them by supporting our fundraising efforts.
The Foundation for Prader-Willi Research was established in 2003 by parents of children with Prader-Willi syndrome (PWS). Today, FPWR is composed of parents, family members, researchers, and others who are interested in addressing the many issues related to PWS, including childhood obesity and autism spectrum disorders.
The mission of FPWR is to eliminate the challenges of Prader-Willi syndrome through the advancement of research. High quality research will lead to more effective treatments and an eventual cure for this disorder. By working together, we intend to free our loved ones from the burden of PWS, allowing them to lead full and independent lives.
Donating through this website is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to support my fundraising efforts.
Many thanks for your support -- and don't forget to forward this to anyone who you think might want to donate too!
