2011 Support-A-Walk for Breast and Ovarian Cancer
Friends,
Thank you for visiting my 2011 fundraising page! This will be my fourth year walking for Support Connection, a group that provides FREE support services for anyone affected by breast or ovarian cancer.
Here's why Support Connection is so important to me: When I was diagnosed with ovarian cancer 12 years ago, I was scared and didn't know where to turn. I happened to find Support Connection, made the call, left a message, and someone called me back and provided the emotional support I desperately needed. It was very comforting to me knowing that there was someone who could answer my questions and welcome me into this sisterhood of which I never wanted to be a member. In addition, Support Connection was unique (and still is) in that they support those affected by ovarian and breast cancers. There is a lot of information and experience out there for those dealing with breast cancer, but many fewer ovarian cancer resources. And for those who do not know, breast cancer has also affected my life - I lost my mother, Lillian Paget, in 1969 after her two-year battle with breast cancer.
Last year I raised $6200 against my $5000 goal. It's now time to raise the bar - this year's goal is $6500 and I'm hoping that I will surpass that goal before the walk on October 2nd.
I hope you can donate to support my walk. Donating through this website is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to support my fundraising efforts.
Many thanks for your support -- and don't forget to forward this to anyone who you think might want to donate too!
