WHISKERS RESCUE INC "Pay the Vet" Fundraiser
Whiskers Rescue has exhausted every means we know of trying to get donations for our current veterinary bills. These bills are a result of the many community cats trapped for Trap-Neuter-Return ("TNR").
TNR is the method of humanely trapping community cats, having them spayed or neutered, vaccinated for rabies and then returning them to their colony to live out their lives. A community cat, also known as a feral cat, is born and raised in the wild, or who has been abandoned or lost and reverted to wild ways in order to survive.
Funds are desperately needed to continue to spay and neuter these cats. In addition, all friendly cats and kittens that are trapped are in foster care and funds are needed to care for these cats until forever homes are found.
TNR helps the community by stabilizing the population of the community cat colony and, over time, reducing it. At the same time, nuisance behaviors such as spraying, loud noise and fighting are largely eliminated and no more kittens are born.
This saves the taxpayers money by reducing the number of kittens that would end up in the municipal shelter.
It is necessary to reach out to the community to help us continue to help these cats and the neighborhoods they live in.
We hope you will help us continue to the only method proven to be effective at controlling community cat population growth.
