**UPDATE**4/23/07...Indie (Keana as her foster calls her) is doing very well, has gained 23 pounds or so, and has finished treatment for tick fever. She is still on medication for valley fever. The vet feels she is at least 8-10 years old. She is ready for her forever home! She's become happier and more outgoing in her current foster home who has done a wonderful job caring for her and helping her become better in both her health and socialization. Her ongoing treatment has exceeded our original goal of $1500 to raise, so we'd love to off-set more of her vet bills and have more available to continue excellent care. Please help if you can!

**UPDATE**12/15/06....Indie is making great progress. She is now in a long term foster home and doing wonderfully. We changed the picture to show her in her little jacket, nosing up to a chihuahua! She is slowly gaining weight and goes in for another shot for the tick fever in a few days. She is taking fluconazole for the valley fever as well. Her appetite is good and her energy levels are definitely up!

**UPDATE**12/2/06....Indie's bloodwork came back and she has both tick fever and valley fever, though the valley fever is a very low positive titer, so that's a good thing, we hope. Her organ function is fine on the bloodwork and that's VERY encouraging.
Today she had another vet appointment to get an injection for the tick fever and then will start on fluconazole for the valley fever. Her appetite is good, so this is making it much easier for her to gain strength. She gained a pound since Thursday, so that's encouraging! She eats several small meals throughout the day.
Tomorrow Indie will go to a long term foster home, thanks to Vicki!! Indie now wears a very cute fleece lined jacket to keep her warm while she's so thin. She seems to like that. She is curious and wanders around more looking at things in her temp foster's apartment. She likes other dogs and does fine with cats too. She is getting lots of TLC and had a bath, her nails trimmed and her ears cleaned today. She looks much much better and seems content. __________________________________________________________________
Poor Indie was found wandering on the border of reservation land...emaciated, dirty, hungry, tired and extremely dehydrated. She could barely walk. Thankfully, a dog lover saw her when she was driving by and put her into her car and took her from that horrible place of neglect.
Indie is very very friendly, but beyond skinny and so very sad right now. We will be testing her for valley fever, tick fever, heartworm and other diseases to be sure we find out the cause of her emaciated condition. She is at least 25 pounds underweight.
Indie will need funds for her vet care and ongoing rehabilitation. She also needs a long term foster home or, even better, a forever home who will give her the care and love she has probably never experienced. She is amazingly sweet and loving.
You can help Indie by donating to her fund, or by fostering her. She needs a comfortable home full of love and TLC to help her gain weight and recover. Right now she is in the vet hospital and really needs to be in a home setting. Please send to any friends you think might like to help.
Thank you for caring and helping Indie...
