LUCKY DOG RESCUE

THIS HANDSOME GUY NEEDS HELP!

THIS HANDSOME GUY NEEDS HELP!

**UPDATE**Friday 8/31:  Taz had his surgery yesterday and he's doing great. He can see better already, his eyes are open more often. The new picture shows him snoring away last night on his bed, sporting his new donut e-collar. He's a wonderful dog and he says "thanks!" for helping him get the surgery he needed!!  The vet said both eyes have corneal abrasions/ulcers that are interfering with his sight, but he felt they would heal over time and his vision would return to normal.  If this were left untreated for longer, his vision could have been permanently damaged. Thank goodness he got the help quickly! Thanks again to all the wonderful people who donated to his surgery!!!

**UPDATE** Monday 8/27:
Wow, we did it!!!  Our great group of dog lovers came to the rescue fast and all the money is raised!!!  Taz will get the surgery this week, thanks to your fast response. I will post updates here on his condition and progress. THANKS SO MUCH for donating!!!

________________________________________________________________

Taz' story is very sad....he was being dumped by his owners because they couldn't afford to pay for his eye surgery, which he desperately needs as soon as possible.

He's just a puppy, at 5 1/2 months old,  and has an eye condition common to Shar Pei's called Entropion, where the eye lashes grow inward into the eye and cause severe pain, irritation and discharge. Right now he is blind because it's too painful for him to try to open his eyes, so he keeps them shut.  It's very sad to see, he bumps into everything in the house and can only find his way over to you by the sound of your voice. Despite his obvious pain and discomfort, he has the sweetest disposition....he loves people,  kids, other dogs, any creature.  Taz is by far the cutest and sweetest shar pei I've ever met!

We convinced the owners to turn him over to us so we could get him the help he needed and find a home where he will be cared for his whole life, whatever comes up. They were going to turn him in to the pound where he would have surely been euthanized right away with a medical issue such as this.

When we raise at least half of what's needed we can schedule his surgery. I hope to raise it quickly for his sake. Our funds are very low right now, as we were only able to raise enough for our basic operations during the last Bowlarama fundraiser, so we're counting on the generosity of caring people out there to donate to Taz' surgery.

Thanks so much!  I will keep you posted on his progress...
