Chachke needs help!
On the fall break from high school, a group of Arcadia students went to Rocky Point to spend time at the beach and have fun. While there on the beach, the girls witnessed a little poodle mix puppy hunched over in ball and being kicked around. The local kids were using this little pup for soccer! To save the pup from such horrible abuse, the girls used their savvy and negotiated with the kids to get them to hand over the puppy. As their cute little souvenir from Mexico, they named him Chachke. Weighing under 5 pounds and happy to be out of those horrible conditions, he seemed relieved to be with kinder people and gladly came along back to Phoenix.
The girls planned to take turns caring for him, but then he began vomiting and having diarrhea within 2 days of being back home to Phoenix. Little Chachke was diagnosed with parvo. Good news and bad news. Good news is had they left him in Mexico for another 48 hours he would have died at the hands of the children abusing him or from the disease, the girls saved him from a certain death. The bad news, little Chachke is dehydrated and is in need of hospitalization in a 24 hour facility. Parvo is a costly disease to treat, but definitely treatable. Because of his severe condition and his tiny size, we estimate the full close of treatment to run around $1800. They contacted Lucky Dog Rescue for help. They agreed to put together this page and help raise funds to save his life.
When so many kids are joining gangs and causing problems, we do not want to discourage these high school girls from doing a good deed, so we are asking you to return the favor. If you can give whatever you can and pass this along to someone else who can help, perhaps we can reach our goal. Thank you for helping this sweet little puppy.
