UPDATE--4/9/08
This afternoon I went and picked up the skinny Dalmatian boy (who I named George), and he's the sweetest dog!!! He was very happy to leave-- perked right up and was wagging his tail all the way out to the car.
He has a really sweet disposition and is very affectionate. He followed me all around the play yard at the kennel, wagging his tail, and really enjoys being petted and hugged.
He ate a bowl of dry food and then a whole can of puppy food. We will be giving him several small meals a day to help him gain weight. He will be checked out by the vet tomorrow and blood tests will be run to make sure he is not skinny from disease.
While I was at the shelter I saw another Dalmatian in the kennel next to George, who also was on the e-list, so of course, I had to take him too. I named him Maury. They are the same age and appear to have come in at the same time. Maury looks healthier and is not thin. He is very friendly and happy.
Hopefully these two Dalmatian boys will soon find their new forever homes, but in the mean time, we are actively searching for foster homes for both.
Thank you to all who donated toward George's vet and boarding costs, we really appreciate that and are so grateful for the generosity of the caring people out there!! George and Maury are lucky dogs!!

Please help sponsor this sad, skinny dog so he can get out of the shelter!!This poor emaciated Dalmatian, obviously neglected and abused, is now on the e-list at the shelter due to his poor health. He is very thin and depressed. We are willing to take him into the rescue, but we are not able to do that without sponsorship of his vet and boarding bills. He will need to get bloodwork, x-rays, (injury to back leg) and we'll need to pay to board him unless a foster home is found. Until our next major fundraiser, we cannot afford to take on a case like this without financial sponsorship.
Please donate to help save his life, we cannot do it without your generous help.
He is on the euthanasia list now and will need to be rescued by Thursday. He is NOT available to the public, so he must get taken out through a rescue partner with the county shelter.Donating through this website is simple, fast and totally secure.
Many thanks for your support -- and don't forget to forward this to anyone who you think might want to donate too!
We will post updates on his progress here.
Thank you,
Lisa
