Walk-Race for Autism 2011
My head spins when I think that this will be our 5th walk with Autism Delaware. The first one was right after Liam had passed and our hearts were so heavy. We felt so blessed as our family and friends surrounded us and carried us through the darkest days. Autism Delaware, our friends, family and children gave us a reason to keep walking.......
So here we are 4 years later..... four years without the most increduble hugs and loving smiles. We often ponder what Liam's Legacy truly is. We hope it is one of understanding and acceptance of others. We pray it is a legacy of hope, that despite the pain and trying times some individuals with autism experience; that they will know a full life of friendships, dignified work, and independence. Pete and I hope that young families find the help they need in insurance reform and answers that a generation of children need.
That is why we walk with Autism Delaware. The tireless work this organization does, helps build a legacy. We ask you to look at their website and get more information about this incredible organization. For our family and friends, we know that Liam's Legacy is the relationships he has cemented, the lives that he has impacted and every day we pray that we are serving him well. Thank you for all of your support and reminding us to keep on walking!
