For the past twenty years, Nashua Special Olympics has been serving the community by providing athletic and social development opportunities to its children and adults with disabilities. My family has been involved with this local program since 1997. I am currently a member of the Board of Directors and along with my wife Sherry and my children we all volunteer for many of the activities provided. As a result of our efforts we received the 2007 "Family of the Year" for the NH State Special Olympics program. My step-daughter Lauren Gaudette was lucky enough to participate as a member of the USA team at the Special Olympics World Games held in Ireland in 2003. Lauren won the Gold Medal in Golf for her division!
Last year, Nashua Special Olympics received the “2007 Local Program of the Year” award from the SONH Program for our demonstrated growth and achievement of the Mission of Special Olympics New Hampshire. We serve over 100 children and adults with disabilities and their families in our community, and this number continues to grow each year. We provide facilities, equipment, uniforms and structured instruction to athletes who might not have the opportunity otherwise to feel the thrill of competition or excel in a sport they have mastered.

Community involvement is paramount to the success of Nashua Special Olympics. Our organization is funded completely through donations and sustained through the hard work of its Volunteers.
This year we are participating in the 2008 Penguin Plunge at Hampton Beach on Sunday, February 3, 2008. Athletes, Volunteers and their Families are asking our community to sponsor them as they plunge into the Atlantic Ocean to raise money for Nashua Special Olympics. You can be of great help to this cause in one of several ways:

Please help us continue to provide meaningful opportunities for children and adults with disabilities by leading the way in our community through the show of your support.
Thanks again,
Dennis and Sherry Jette, the Girls, Lauren, Nicole, Katie, Danielle and from all of our Friends at Nashua Special Olympics.
