My name is Beth Utz! I am wife to Derik, and mom to six wonderful children: Madelyn, Alexander, Margaret, Allyson, Abigail, & Miriam.
Our son Alex is eleven years old, and is the next to oldest of six in his family! In 2005, he was diagnosed with a related disorder similar to Marfan Syndrome, called Loeys-Dietz Syndrome. In March of 2006, Alex had valve-sparing aortic root replacement to remove an aneurysm in his aorta. He has yearly check-ups to monitor any changes in vasculature throughout his body and heart.
The Marine Corps Marathon will be my first marathon and I am so excited to be doing it for such a wonderful cause!
