Diane Deresienski's Fundraising Page
Thank you for visiting my fundraising page for American Parkinson Disease Association!
My husband, Greg Lewbart, and I have temporarily moved to Connecticut to spend some time with my parents because my Dad has been affected by Parkinson's Disease. We are staying at River's Bend Apartments in Windsor, CT, which has a great heated indoor pool, outdoor pool, and convenient running/biking routes nearby. Therefore, I have no excuse not to train. I am also working with Dr. Pennington at the Windsor Animal Clinic who has been diagnosed with Muscular Dystrophy. My Dad and Dr. Pennington were both excellent athletes in their day. They are my inspiration to get in shape and attempt my first Triathlon. If I survive the 1/2 mile swim, I will then bike 12 miles and attempt to run a 5 K with these tired old legs.
My Dad is my swimming coach and meets me at the pool at 7:30 am to help me train, keep me from drowning and get some exercise too. He is doing great with both the swimming and the helpful swimming advice.
The money that you donate on this page will go directly to the American Parkinson Disease Association. I have another fundraising page for the Muscular Dystrophy Association (www.firstgiving.com/dianederesienskimda). You may choose which charity to support (or donate to both!). I am honored to "Move" for these Movement Disorders and only hope that I can live up to my Dad and Dr. Pennington's athletic standards.
Donating through this website is simple, fast and totally secure.
Many thanks for your support -- and don't forget to forward this to anyone who you think might want to donate too!
