I look forward to participating in Massachusetts Breast Cancer Coalition's Against the Tide event for the 14th year in a row. The message of the MBCC is as important today as it was two decades ago: We will end the epidemic of breast cancer only through PREVENTION, and we must allocate resources to identify and eliminate environmental links to cancer in our water, air, soil, food, cleaning materials and personal care products.
Fitness activities have been an important part of my life for thirty-five years, and participating in Against the Tide -- walking, swimming, kayaking and bicycling -- is a way that I can help provide a healthier future for all women. I am concerned by the ever-increasing number of women that I know who have been diagnosed with breast cancer. I support the work of MBCC, advocating for research into environmental factors causing this epidemic.
I have raised over $50,000 for the MBCC in my previous thirteen events, collecting many small contributions from family, friends and colleagues who all support the goal of BREAST CANCER PREVENTION. Please support the MA Breast Cancer Coalition and help me reach my fundraising goal of $5,000 this year.
