The Genworth Financial Luau at the Lanes is held annually to assist in generating funds for Junior Achievement of Eastrn North Carolina to help meet the increasing demands for JA’s in-school economic education programs. The net $35,846 raised through last years’ event provided funding for 26% of local JA programs. Nationally, JA Bowl-A-Thon events raise $15 million with nearly 200,000 participants. Clearly, the BAT plays a critical role in JA’s ongoing fundraising efforts.
