Thank you for visiting my fundraising page that benefits the Matibabu Foundation. I volunteered with the Foundation in 2009 and I saw the desperate need for the services that they provide. I want to do more to support this wonderful organization and you can help.
The Foundation coordinates efforts by the American public, the American medical community, public and private organizations to create sustainable local programs that address unmet medical needs. With the people of Ugenya, the Foundation assists 1500 patients per month to receive clinical care for rampant malaria and other serious illnesses. The Foundation has special interest in women’s and children’s health, and works to reduce the area’s 20% child mortality rate with medical services and health education that target women and children. The Foundation also supports comprehensive care for the 20-30% of the population that suffers from HIV/AIDS by collaborating with the best rural HIV/AIDS program in Kenya. All Matibabu Foundation work occurs in an area where other options for medical care are hours away by bicycle and out of reach for most people.
