MIGUEL DE LA GUARDIA's Fundraising Page
Thank you for visiting my Chicago Marathon fundraising page!
On October 12, 2008, I ran the Chicago Marathon with the Caring for Carcinoid Foundation Team. Carcinoid is a rare, deadly neuroendocrine cancer with no cure. The Caring for Carcinoid Foundation works to eliminate the suffering of patients, families and caregivers affected by carcinoid and related neuroendocrine tumors. The foundation also strives to help fund work into discovering a cure for carcinoid cancer. CFCF has won the "Best in America" award from the Independent Charities of America and directs 100% of all donations to research into carcinoid and related neuroendocrine tumors research
My employer, Molecular Insight Pharmaceuticals (MIP) is actively developing products to help fight cancer such as this disease and supports the work of the Caring for Carcinoid Foundation. Your contribution along with the research at MIP, will help the Carcinoid Foundation fight cancer. As such, I urge you to please donate generously to this cause.
Even though I've been a runner for a long time, this was my first time running 26.2 miles. From the start I was confident that running a Marathon was within my physical capabilities and finished in 4 hours and 39 minutes. This race is one of the hardest physical endeavors I have attempted but it is nothing compared to what cancer patients go through day to day.
There is still an need and time to contribute to the fight against cancer. Making a contribution through this website is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to support the fight against cancer.
Please forward this to anyone who you think might want to donate and many thanks for your support. - Miguel
