Thank you for visiting my fundraising page!

Participating in a marathon has never been on my “bucket list”, and for that matter neither has being diagnosed with Cancer. But in March of this past year, I got that chilling diagnosis, and have spent the past ten months, recovering from being cut open, sewed back up, having had parts of me removed, losing all my hair, experiencing unbelievable bouts of fatigue, as well as emotional highs and lows. It’s been quite the ride!! What got me through all that, was the love and support of a wonderful family of friends:  friends who called, emailed, sent cards and lots and lots of love -  new friends, who I just met in chemo, and at Gilda’s -  and old friends, who travelled 5 minutes and others who travelled 5 hours and more, to lift my spirits.  To all those friends old and new, I want to send my heartfelt thanks. I could never have done it without you.

I am lucky and honored to have had the support and love of so many. Love and support is what Gilda’s Club provides for so many individuals and families touched by cancer. Every time you enter through the signature “red door”, you are engulfed by the love, and your spirit is lifted just enough to help you get through another day. Gilda’s Club offers support groups, lectures, classes and activities, in a beautiful, uplifting environment, free of charge to anyone touched by cancer. And while everything is free, it is not cheap.

So now is my opportunity to give back, and make a difference for others who are battling cancer, and I would ask you to join me, by making a generous donation to Gilda’s Club, so they can continue to make a difference in the lives of so many and do the good work that they do.

Now that I’m back on my feet, and ready to take on a new challenge, I have joined Gilda’s Gang, a group of individuals committed to raising money for Gilda’s Club. We are” in training” to walk in the Country Music ½ Marathon in Nashville, TN on April 28, 2012. Not only will it help to get me back in shape ( a few months ago I could barely walk up a flight of stairs), but with your support, we will raise lots of $$$ for Gilda’s Club.

Donating through this website is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to support my fundraising efforts.

Many thanks for your support -- and don't forget to forward this to anyone who you think might want to donate too!
