In Loving Memory of Dr. Edward P Gada

Two years ago, on August 11, 2013, our father lost the brave battle he fought with Lewy Body Dementia. Our mission to raise awareness and money for the Lewy Body Dementia Association has not faltered and we remain committed to sharing our father’s story.

My family and I have set a goal to raise awareness and an additional $2500 for the Lewy Body Dementia Association in honor of Dr. Edward P Gada by January, 18, 2016, what would have been his 69th birthday. The Surftown Half Marathon will be the first event we will do to raise money so please look for other events and opportunities to donate.

LBD is not a rare disease. It affects an estimated 1.4 million individuals and their families in the United States. Because LBD symptoms can closely resemble other more commonly known diseases like Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s, it is currently widely underdiagnosed. Many doctors or other medical professionals still are not familiar with LBD.

In memory of our beloved husband and father,Edward P. Gada. He was a brilliant man who loved all of us. On August 11, 2013 he lost his battle with Lewy Body Dementia.

There are places I remember
All my life, though some have changed
Some forever not for better
Some have gone and some remain
All these places have their moments
With lovers and friends I still can recall
Some are dead and some are living
In my life I've loved them all

But of all these friends and lovers
There is no one compares with you
And these memories lose their meaning
When I think of love as something new
Though I know I'll never lose affection
For people and things that went before
I know I'll often stop and think about them
In my life I love you more

Though I know I'll never lose affection
For people and things that went before
I know I'll often stop and think about them
In my life I love you more
In my life I love you more
