Update #3
(to make this a little more concise, I've deleted my first couple entries - if you're unfamiliar with me and would like to know more, please feel free to contact me at drew@loganhouse.com - or stop by for lunch sometime! I'd be happy to answer any questions)
Today marks the last day of month 2! 50 days to go and already down 72lbs! (335 to 263) I played basketball (terribly) this week for the first time in years and ran a couple unofficial 5ks. I feel great and the support I've received from family, friends, and even total strangers has been overwhelming.
I've been reluctant to update my picture because I want everyone to come see the results for themselves - either now, or at the party on April 25th at Kelly's Logan House. We'll have a band, raffle/auction, food, drink, the final weigh-in and check presentation to our charities.
On a sad note, two members of Connections Community Support Programs staff were tragically killed in a car accident last week. Mike Kriner and Chris Sturmfels both left young families and the whole community they worked so hard to improve to grieve. If you'd like to read more of their exemplary lives, please visit Connections website here
Donations to my firstgiving page will be directed into to memorial education funds for the children of Kriner and Sturmfels families. Please keep the money coming in, it has taken on a whole new meaning.
Thank you all for the support, I hope to see you all April 25th - Drew
Update #4
3 months since we started this life-changing event. I'm battling allergies and tired legs after a couple good, long bike rides the past couple days. I couldn't let this nice day go to waste, so I got up and ran 4 miles - looking back at my log, I see that March 5 was my first attempt at "running." I couldn't run more than 100 strides without stopping to walk. Only a month later I'm completing 4 miles with some left in the tank! Very exciting for me!
I have transitioned slowly into a diet that I can maintain once the "competition" is over. Coupled with the muscle I've been putting on lately, the weight loss has slowed. I did put a new hole in my belt this week (the 8th since we started) and my fitness has improved by leaps and bounds without it showing on the scale.
Remember to keep April 25th open - there is going to be a big party and check presentation to our charities.

Thanks again for all the support! I've had more wonderful moments during this experience than I could ever count - Drew
