I have been involved with Special Olympics for 20 years...served at all different local office levels and at the state level....Have been to two Special Olympic World Games (China and Ireland) and have coached for 19 years.  Attended funerals of 10 different Special Olympic athletes ranging in age from 14 to 25 and 2 over 50. 

One of the reasons I do what I do for Special Olympics is these athletes have a lot of life to live in a short time.  Other than work, Special Olympics is my life.  My daughter, Chelsea has been active for 20 years and has won medals at all levels, including a gold at the World Games in China.

This Polar Plunge has enabled the Watertown Area Special Olympics to meet the needs of our traveling athletes with uniforms, lodging, transportation, and specialized equipment.  I have participated in the Polar Plunge the last 2 years and this will be my 3rd and final jump. (I'm getting old)
