Running for a BIG Reason!
Hi and thanks for visiting our fundraising web page. We'd really appreciate your support in something we feel very strongly about.
40 million people around the world are currently infected with HIV and AIDS. With so many suffering from the disease, particularly in some of the world's poorest countries, hospital or hospice care is impossible for most who are living with and dying from AIDS. In response, World Vision is mobilizing Community Care Coalitions made up of over 41,000 hard working, volunteer caregivers who offer in-home physical and emotional support to those in their community afflicted by AIDS.
However, most caregivers do not have access to the basic supplies they need-supplies that you or I could easily purchase at our local drug store. This is why World Vision has created the Caregiver Kit. These kits, filled with basic healthcare items like antibacterial soap, latex gloves, petroleum jelly, etc., are assembled by volunteers in America and sent to caregivers in Africa, Asia and Latin America.
We're participating as a part of a relay team in the Virginia Mason Team Medicine Marathon Relay at Seafair on July 8, 2007. My team and I have a goal of providing at least 100 World Vision Caregiver Kits, which is a part of a larger Team World Vision goal of 10,000 kits through this event. It's a big goal but I know we can do it! And, here's how you can help:
- Each donation of $30 on my web page provides for a Caregiver Kit. Would you consider supporting us?
Through the work of World Vision, there is hope in the fight against HIV and AIDS. Thanks for your support as I join this fight. Donating through this site is simple safe and totally secure.
Thank you for caring.
