I was accepted as a World Teach Volunteer in mid-October of 2009 and I am extremely excited to go abroad and share the beauty of the English lamguage as well as direct insight to the American culture based on my life experiences and knowledge. At first my fundraising goal seemed somewhat daunting, but as I reflected on my amazing group of family, friends, and colleagues, I realized that it can be done. A little insight into my efforts: I have been volunteering since I was 14 years old, and the love for service continued with me throughout my college years and even to post grad.  Giving back is just something that has been instilled in me and that I feel happy and proud to do.

I decided to be a World Teach volunteer because of the value I find behind education and the betterment of lifestyles as a whole. As a volunteer in Chile, I will help the community that I live in learn how to speak english and in turn be able to compete on a global scale with other countries. I chose to go to a spanish-speaking country because I studied spanish throughout college and I've gained an affinity for the language as well as the different cultures of Latin America and Spain. So going to Chile, will not only help the chileans but also increase my knowledge of the various cultures of Latin America.

I hope that you will find it in your hear to help me in my goal to make it to Chile and accomplish what I beliece is a very important conquest for me as well as to the people of Chile!
