Its Mercedes Marathon time! This year’s Mercedes events will take place on Sunday, February 15, 2009. A team will be running in honor of Collin and our goal is to raise $5000.00. This is our first year at The Bell Center but since Collin has started attending there he has made amazing improvements and wonderful new friends.
The Bell Center for Early Intervention Programs seeks to maximize the development of children from birth to three years of age who are at risk for developmental delay. The infants and toddlers who attend this program have a wide range of disabilities ranging from Down syndrome, cerebral palsy, developmental delay, and autism, to spina bifida and other, rare genetic abnormalities. In all, over 100 children with special needs from throughout central Alabama attend this extraordinary program each year!
The team running in honor of Collin is Pam Bruner (Collin’s OT), Jeannie Davis, Wendy Lacey, Sue McGlynn and Amy Underwood. Collin was diagnosed with gross motor skill developmental delay in May and we started The Bell Center in July. With the help of his teachers and therapists, he is learning how to crawl and is working hard on many other age-appropriate tasks. He is such a happy little boy that loves his two older brothers, books, music and many others things.
