UPDATE 4/17/2010: thanks to all of you i have acheived my personal commitment and am now channeling my efforts to ensure that clients will be represented within our group. Please continue to spread the word and help fund the important work we will be presenting at the INTERNATIONAL AIDS CONFERENCE this July. This page will be left open until October to ensure all monies are raised that we will incur during this event. AND PLEASE ENDORSE OUR DECLARATION (link below).
Thank you for visiting my fundraising page!
Donating through this website is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to support my fundraising efforts.
I am raising money to send Housing Works clients and staff (including myself) to the International AIDS Conference in Vienna July 18-23, 2010. I have an Individual responsibility of $2000 and a group responsibility of $60,000. Every cent makes a difference no matter how large/small. If your work can match your donation - please pass this along to them. If you or your work or someone you know can fully sponsor me (or more) please let them know as well.
We will be organizing a satellite meeting on housing as an integral component in healthcare for people with HIV/AIDS as well as getting endorsements to our "International Declaration on Poverty, Housing Instability and HIV/AIDS."
You can endorse the declaration we presented in Mexico City 2008 here: http://nationalaidshousing.org/2008/07/endorseconference/
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
The 2010 International AIDS Conference in Vienna, Austria, is the premier gathering for those working in the field of HIV, as well as policy makers, persons living with HIV and other individuals committed to ending the pandemic. It is a chance to assess where we are, evaluate recent scientific developments and lessons learnt, and collectively chart a course forward.
Once at the conference, there will be opportunities to participate in education, advocacy, and activism that will work to end the HIV & AIDS epidemic worldwide as well as the stigma that surrounds it.
Among many of the issues being addressed will be to futher the International Declaration to End Poverty and Homelessness, developing strategies to reduce HIV incidence by expanding prevention, treatment, care, and support. Another focus will be to highlight the critical connection between human rights, social justice, and HIV.
Many thanks for your support -- and don't forget to forward this to anyone who you think might want to donate too!
Sincerely,
Eddie Fukui
