Thank you for visiting my fundraising page! I'm trying to raise $1270 for the Green Beret Foundation, a 501(c)3 non-profit dedicated to helping wounded soldiers from the US Army Special Forces. Their role puts them directly in harm's way, often for extended periods. Unfortunately, this results in the Green Berets having the highest number of wounded personnel of any of the US Special Operations Forces.

To raise funds for their Foundation I'm planning on completing the GoRuck Ascent. The idea is to team up with a group of active duty Green Berets, former soldiers from different forces, and a group of hardcore athletes. The Ascent is a 100-hour adventure, where our group will wear some heavy packs, climb a few 14k peaks in Colorado, run/walk/ruck through some local towns and cities, learn some fun/useful mountaineering, survival, and medical skills, and of course, toss back a few beers around a bonfire. We're all committed to raising funds for the Foundation in preparation for the Ascent.

How am I training for this? Mostly by bouldering, running and hiking (sometimes with a weight belt, or with a backpack filled with bricks) with my dear friends from San Luis Obispo County.

People ask me why I would do want to do anything like this. I say: It's part of being human to find out what you're capable and not capable of doing. And it is part of being human to reflect and assist those who are in need. Often I raise funds for women or children in need, here in the US, or abroad. This time I'm motivated to raise funds for those who put their lives at risk and sometimes pay a high price for their service. The Green Beret Foundation serves those wounded Special Forces soldiers and their families who are not reached by other charities. To give back a little, I'm raising money for the GBF.
