Educo Colorado's mission is to create and conduct experiential programs that draw forth leadership, compassion, and a sense of purpose in the young and young at heart. Since 1999, Educo has served approximately 4,000 youth primarily through after-school and year-round programs. The word "educo" is the Latin root word for education and means "to lead or draw forth." This definition describes Educo's belief that education is the process of evoking students' best qualities of character. Using outdoor experiences as a basis for its programs, Educo's purpose is to create an environment for youth and adults that values the individual, builds community, and fosters a sense of respect and personal responsibility.
