THE BOARDERLINE BIRDERS
2011 PRBO Bird-A-Thon
PRBO
PRBO is a highly successful nonprofit that avances conservation through bird and ecosystem research, from Alaska to Antarctica, on land and at sea. Our website (prbo.org) has a wealth of information about our work. One area of conservation we are having a dramatic impact on is ranch and agriculture land though our Working Lands Project. More than 50% of California land is privately held and much of it by ranchers and farmers. The goal of this growing program is for our scientists to work with these landowners to manage their land to support water and soil conservation, habitat restoration and increase biodiversity. Invariably, these measures INCREASE productivity and are welcomed by landowners. (see http://www.prbo.org/cms/536 for more info). Your support of the Bird-A-Thon will support the Working Lands Program and many other sucessful PRBO projects.
Our Team
Our team is made up of PRBO Board members, scientists and friends who have a strong devotion to PRBO’s mission of advancing conservation.
PRBO Bird-A-Thon
Our Part: Count Birds! Raise funds to support PRBO! Each year we get a little better. Last year we identified 83 species during a great day of bird watching in West Marin. This year we counted 86--a new record for our team! See bottom of page for list of species. There is no better way to appreciate the beauty of where we live and learn about the wildlife we share it with. Let me know if you would like to join us next year.
Your Part: Sponsor our Team!
Amount Per Species: We found 86 species. So a donation at $2 per species, for example, would be $172.
Flat Donation: Don't like the per species contribution? Donate any amount you want!
If you donate $50 or more you will receive a one-year PRBO membership. All donations are 100% tax deductible.
Rather not pledge online? Let us know and we will send you a paper pledge form.
Thanks so much,
