Come and join 'Team Z' on Sat. April 17th, as we walk 2.4 miles and carry 10 liters of water (adult) & 4 liters of water (child).

WHY WALK?   In many countries children, particularly girls, are responsible for the collection of water. Girls as young as 10 years old may take the main responsibility for drawing and carrying the family's water. On this day we will be walking in an effort to help the world's poorest people gain access to safe water, sanitation and hygiene education. Water, sanitation and hygiene are the essential foundations to all other forms of development and are vital for poverty reduction.

The Walk for Water begins at 11:00 am @ Huizenga Park in Zeeland MI on Saturday, April 17th, 2010. The walking course: 1.2 miles east to gather 10 or 4 liters of water and then carry that water back to the starting point.  Questions?    Contact:   zwyghuizen@mac.com

How can you be a blessing?

It costs just $30 for WaterAid to provide one person with safe water, sanitation and hygiene education.

Here are some examples of how your donation can be used by WaterAid:

$45 could pay for tools needed to construct a hand-dug well in Ghana
$200 could pay for a handpump to serve 10 households in Nepal
$1,000 could buy a deep tubewell in a coastal area which will tap pure non-saline water and serve 25 families in Bangladesh

Order your official tshirt or hoodie on-line:  www.citizenshirt.com  & pick it up the day of the walk.
