We may be a bit crazy to tread water in October,,,,,  but we are very serious about our desire to abolish povery and eliminate the 2.5 billion people that live without a safe toilet and the 900 million people that lack access to clean water.

 

The Need:

Clean, safe water is something most of us take for granted, but nearly 900 million people do not have access to it and 2.5 billion have nowhere safe and clean to go to the toilet. 

As a result, 4,000 children die every day from easily prevented diarrheal diseases.  Millions more are unable to attend school.  

 

Our Part of the Solution: 

Come and Tread Water, In October !!!!!, In Michigan !!!!!

On this day we are treading water in an effort to help the world's poorest people gain access to safe water, sanitation and hygiene education.

$24 can buy two faucets for a village water point.

$50 can buy tools to dig a well.

$60 can buy a family toilet.

$120 can buy a handpump for families in developing countries.
