Thank you for visiting our fundraising page! We are running in the Philadelphia Marathon to raise funds for the Accelerated Cure Project for MS and also to honor Lewis Scotton who has MS.

THE TEAM

Our team is Bethany Vaughn, Lauralyn Vaughn, and Elaine Scotton. Bethany is the runner with experience even though she is the youngest team member.  This is the third time she is running the Philly marathon, and she will run the full marathon. Lauralyn Vaughn is Bethany's mom and will participate in the Philly marathon for the first time. She had planned to run the half marathon, but had a medical issue come up so she is running the 8k. Elaine is Bethany's aunt, Lauralyn's sister and the wife of Lew Scotton. This is her first attempt at a long race and will run the half marathon.  

THE ACCELERATED CURE PROJECT

We are supporting the Accelerated Cure Project for MS that is an organization dedicated to facilitating scientific research. Their focus is on preventing the disability, stopping the progress of the disease and repairing the damage caused by MS. ACP places more importance on finding a cure than seeking profits or publicity. Their efforts have resulted in numerous advances in MS research

LEWIS SCOTTON

Lew Scotton has run marathons, climbed mountains, dived deep into the sea and traveled to places that few have seen. He has had MS for 30 years and continues a full and active life. MS has taken away a lot of abilities that Lew had, but he holds onto his attitude of adventure. He is a loving father, husband and friend.
