Hello everyone and welcome to our 6th Annual WALK FOR HOPE, FAMILY FUN DAY 2012 and thank you for visiting ELISE'S DREAM TEAM web page. First, I want to thank everyone for their generous donations for the past WALK FOR HOPE events. They have been such a great success with the help of all of you and The Autism Society of Acadiana.
ELISE'S DREAM TEAM did so well in past years and we hope to do as well this year, too. Please reach deep down into your hearts to help support our cause which will bring Autism Awareness to as many people as we can. This is the way to find a cause and possibly some day a cure for Autism. Austism affects more than 1 in 150 people born in the United States, which means each day 60 new families learn they now have a child with Autism. After years of ABA Therapy, Elise still can not speak her wants and needs. She often struggles to communicate what she wants or what is wrong. She can utter some words that she may think sounds right but they are not words in the english language. When she hears people talk, what she hears is like another language to her. It is often hard for her to let us know what she wants or needs. Elise also suffers from seizures and a severe form of Obsessive Compulsive Disorder. Each day can be a challenge for children like Elise. Yet, there is HOPE. Elise is now beginning to use an iPad to communicate some basic wants and needs. We are so encouraged!!! PLEASE join our team to continue the work of helping support our local chapter, the Autism Society of Acadiana.
There are three ways to join my team:
1st, if you want to join ELISE'S DREAM TEAM go to www.acadianaautism.com and click on 2012 walk for hope emblem and then click on register in the green box. Choose amount of people attending and remember children 5 and under are free. Click Register. Change Elise's name to your name and fill out the form with t-shirt size and lasly put elise's Dream Team as your team. It cost $20.00 per person to join and with that you will enjoy a day of fun, food, music, prizes and a 2012 Walk for Hope t-shirt.
2nd, if you just want to donate, click on Donate in the green box.
3rd, if you want to donate or join Elise's Dream Team, please send a check to my address below, we will register you for the walk. This is a safe way if you do not want to use your credit card on this site. By the way, it is a safe sight or ASAC would not have picked it. You can make your checks payable to ASAC (Autism Society of Acadiana) which can be used for tax purposes and send it to: Elise's Dream Team, 319 La Rue Christ Roi, Carencro, LA 70520-5646.
