Eliza Golden's Fundraising Page
Dear Friends,
I spent two years working for Touch before law school, and as I have continued to watch the organization from afar, my belief in the value of Touch's work in Tanzania remains as strong as ever.
Over the past seven years I have lived and worked in various countries in Africa and Southeast Asia, and across these diverse settings ridden with developmental challenges, one thing stands out: a basic, functioning health system is essential for development and the promotion of individual human rights and dignity. Too many countries in the world lack this critical foundation.
Touch is addressing this grave deficiency by getting to the root of the problem and pursuing sustainable solutions instead of temporary band-aids. It is a cause, and a methodology, that I am honored to support.
Last November I ran my first marathon, and with the incredible support of more than 85 donors, I was able to raise over $11,000 to support Touch's work training doctors and medical personnel in Tanzania. While running the 26.2 miles through the streets of NYC was one of the most memorable experiences of my life, the overwhelming generosity of my supporters was an even greater, and humbling, reward that has stayed with me long after my runner's high came to an end.
I am thrilled to be taking on this challenge again, and as I stock up on band aids and power gel to hit the pavement these next few months, I hope you will support me in supporting the great work of this organization. Every single dollar makes a difference. Thank you and please forward this freely! :)
