Elizabeth Bird's Fundraising Page
Hi everyone…
As some of you may know, my husband and I have been a part of HMEA's Shared Living program for the past 6 years. We Share our home and lives with two amazing adults who receive supports from HMEA. Our lives have been forever changed for the better by this experience. These two people are our friends and our family. We are able to do this because of the support we receive from HMEA. Recently we moved in to a new barrier reduced home. With the help of HMEA's fundraising we were able to have a wheelchair ramp installed. This will help us with the evolving physical needs of J & R, and make sure that we are able to stay together for many years to come.
I am personally writing you today to ask you to join me in “making a difference” in someone’s life!
Please support me as I raise funds for HMEA at the “9th Annual Independence 5K Walk/Run in the Park” being held on Sunday, May 23, 2010. This event is really spectacular! Unlike other walks or races, this is a real fun-filled family day...full of fun, food, and family activities – even a Kids Fun Run! It’s a great way to support over 2400 children and adults with disabilities.
HMEA has been a leading provider of community-based supports for nearly 50 years. They have been committed to advancing creative and positive strategies for children and adults with significant developmental and intellectual disabilities, and their programs and services serve 2400 people and families in more than 110 Massachusetts communities. To learn more about HMEA please visit their website at www.hmea.org
Please take a few minutes and make the decision to “make a difference” in someone’s life, and support my efforts by...
- making an online tax-deductible donation
- asking your company to match your donation
- creating your own personal fundraising page for HMEA
- donating a raffle item
- volunteering!
Any of these will be supporting me and benefiting 2400 children and adults served by HMEA!
And, if you know of others who would be interested in helping to “make a difference”, please pass along this page. Thank you!
