Ten dollars doesn't seem like much. It could buy two Happy Meals at McDonald's. It could buy a cheap pair of shoes, or maybe two Starbucks white chocolate mocha lattes. What if you took that ten dollars and saved someone's life?
All it takes is ten dollars to provide water to one person for the rest of his or her life. Living Water International digs water wells for villages who don't have clean water. Most of the kids in these villages spend their days walking miles away to get water (which is usually dirty and full of disease) to bring home. They don't have time to get an education because they're busy toting dirty water. What if they had a well right in their village and didn't have to walk for miles anymore? It could change the entire direction of their lives.
I'm walking the Go St. Louis half marathon on April 11. What I'm doing for fun (walk 13.1 miles), some people do to survive (walk to get water). I'd love to have your encouragement - whether monetarily or just prayerfully - to help me finish strong. If each of you donated just one dollar, we could save so many lives!
I'm setting a fundraising target of $50. Sounds kind of low, right? That's because I want you each to donate only ONE dollar. That's it. I don't want to burden my already financially-strained friends and family, but I figure one dollar isn't going to break the bank.
Will you support me?
