Last year, I ran my first half marathon in memory of a very close friend, Kiersten Hickman-Perfetti and her organization, Kier's Kidz. This year I will run to honor my mother-in-law Judy Martinetti who was diagnosed this month with adenocarcinoma of the lung (lung cancer).

2009 brought many challenges to our family and Mom has shown strength and courage through it all. This recent news has shocked us all, but she is determined to fight this battle and conquer cancer. I do not doubt her for a minute!

Please join me in celebrating Judy as I run the Philly ING Distance Run on September 20th. The Lung Cancer Alliance is the only national non-profit organization dedicated solely to patient support and advocacy for people living with lung cancer and those at risk for the disease. Any amount you can donate is appreciated. Above all, we ask for your prayers and support during these next few months.
