I am a new employee at Vail Place, and I feel incredibly grateful that I have found such a wonderful organization to be a part of. Vail Place provides essential services to help people manage their mental illness, live self-sufficiently in the community, and stay out of the hospital.
It costs an average of over $1,900 for one day of psychiatric hospitalization here in Minnesota . . . it costs a little more than $4.00 per day for someone to come to Vail Place. And, the hospitalization rate of people who come here is reduced by over 80 percent. So you can see that $4 of prevention is worth $1,900 of cure – and an investment in Vail Place is very well spent!
Friends and family, please help by sponsoring me as I bike around Lake Calhoun on July 25. Governor Pawlenty recently has made dramatic cuts in funding for nonprofits. Luckily Vail Place has been preparing for this for years and will not be closing anytime soon, but Vail Place will suffer from these cuts.
