“Persistence wins the day!”

Well, the countdown has started. Although our family has been working out all summer, getting ready for the MiracleKids Triathlon, this is the most important week of the year for the MoMF.

Why’s that? Because MiracleKids families fund nearly all the grants the foundation gives out annually.

The next 7 days will determine how many families can receive support this year. That’s why we hope you’ll give beyond the call in the next few days before James' race on August 21. 

This has been our first year taking part in the MiracleKids Triathlon - a very special triathlon for kids. The goal is not just to get in great shape to do well in the race, but also to do something special for kids being treated for cancer in Minnesota. 

One reason our family got involved was the theme of the MiracleKids; Kids Racing for Kids Who Can't. All the kid racers will be racing in honor of local cancer kids - called Mitch's All Stars - with one of their names marked on our leg during the race. We also raise pledges to support a local charity that helps the families of Mitch's All Stars.

How it all started... the race was inspired by a boy named Mitch Chepokas who, when he was just 9-years old and very sick with cancer, chose to give his life savings to the other cancer kids in the hospital, so they might suffer less. After the gesture, Mitch felt so good that he made his dad pinky swear promise to keep helping cancer kids after he was gone.

Now 7 years later, the MiracleKids Triathlon has grown into the world's largest fund raising triathlon for kids with over 1200 kids racing and hoping to raise $250,000 for the Miracles of Mitch Foundation, a 501C3 non-profit that provide cost-of-living grants to families treating a child with cancer in Minnesota. 100% of your donation is tax-deductible.
