David's Team! Our third Race!
We’re running and walking in memory of
David Chadwick Jr.
May 31, 1963-June 23, 2000
Four years ago, I came across the information about the Samaritans Run for Someone Else’s Life. It came at a perfect time. Losing someone to suicide can make you feel helpless, angry and very sad. The Race for Someone Else’s Life allowed me to work beyond those initial feelings of loss. The work that the Samaritans do both for those in need of a lifeline and for the survivors of a suicide is vitally important.
That first year I walked as a way to remember David, to celebrate life and to make my peace with his decision. Last year I’m participating in the race both to remember my brother, David, and to thank and support those volunteers who help so many people in their time of need. This year we're doing the race again because the need for help and support is always there.
Last year we reached our goal of $1,500! We were so pleased with the help we received from friend, colleagues and family! This year we’re targeting the same number as I am late in getting this team started. There’s been great interest in the race again. If you would like to join us for the day, please feel free to register with the team! It's a great day for all ages and athletic abilities! To register please go to http://samaritanshope.org/5khtml and please indicate that you'd like to join David's Team! There will be a box on the registration form where you can type in "David's Team"
After the official events conclude, we will be heading to 21 Nickels in
Watertown, MA , www.21nickels.com, to continue to celebrate life.
So many people are impacted by suicide; either in their own thoughts/actions or by the thoughts/actions of those they love. Please help to ensure that they will have a resource to turn to during this time.
Thank you for your support and interest!
My many thanks,
Emily Chadwick Condon
