Thanks you for your interest in supporting us and Rise International. 

Once again, we are running this year for Rise.  We are running the Chicago marathon on October 9, 2011.  

There have been times when conditioning for long races can feel like too much.  The training, the hours, the physical effort and overall discipline can cause us to wonder why we are doing this.  This is when we focus on Rise and the children in Angola who know more suffering and hardship than we will ever know.  It makes the running seem easy. 

Education is at the heart of Rise.  Education empowers people.  Rise is focused on rebuilding lives and communities through education.  The first school was built in 2003 and now there are over 130 schools built and more than 60,00 children in school learning. Their aim is to build schools to strengthen the minds and the spirits of children and their futures. 

We hope you will support us again this year to make a difference in the lives of so many who have so little.  Working together, we can impact thousands of lives. No donation is too small. 

We are thrilled to be a part of an effort that values education and children.  Please consider joining us this year again or for the first time.  You will have a direct impact on the lives of many children, offering them opportunities they would otherwise not have.
