The Buddy Walk® is a 2.6 mile no-fee walk along the canal beginning at Celebration Plaza in White River State Park, October 13, 2012 10:00 AM - 1:00 PM. Proceeds  from the walk help fund Down Syndrome Indiana programs and services that help individuals with Down syndrome and their families.

The Buddy Walk® was established by the National Down Syndrome Society in 1995 to celebrate Down Syndrome Awareness Month in October.

The Buddy Walk® has three primary goals:

• To promote acceptance and inclusion of people with Down syndrome.
• To raise funds locally and nationally for education,  research and advocacy programs.
• To enhance the position of the Down syndrome community, enabling us to positively influence local and national   policy and practice.
