Yvette Pina & Dundee Boy's Fundraising Page
Thank you for visiting my fundraising page!
As a colony caretaker for a few years now I have encountered all kinds of feral cats. Last spring (2009) Tabitha joined the colony that lives in our yard. We TNR-ed (trap - neuter - return) her shortly after her arrival.
In the fall (2009) we started noticing she was awfully chummy with our dog, Dundee Boy. Tabitha survived the long cold Chicago winter( 2009-2010), but we noticed she was losing weight, rapidly. We decided to trap her and have her vetted. Turns out she is FIV+ and had 4 different types of worms/parasites.
Tabitha is one of the lucky ones, she moved into a managed feral cat colony. Many ferals aren't this lucky. Tabitha has since moved indoors with us. She remains very very shy with us, but completely social and in love with Dundee Boy.
Tree House Humane Society has been very supportive in my TNR efforts, along with supplying me with food from the cat food pantry. They also have a low cost spay neuter clinic where you can take in pets or feral cats to be neutered at a low cost.
In their first year, the Tree House clinic provided care to almost 3,400 animals. They have performed 3,130 spay or neuter surgeries during that time. Broken down, they have sterilized 223 dogs and 2,907 cats, of which 1,934 (67%) have been TNR or TNA.
Donating through this website is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to support my fundraising efforts.
Many thanks for your support -- and don't forget to forward this to anyone who you think might want to donate too!
